Clothing
Bring base layers, fleece, insulated jacket and windproof or waterproof shell. Add comfortable trousers, warm socks, gloves and a beanie. Layers beat one bulky coat.
Sun and dryness
Carry high-SPF sunscreen, UV sunglasses, a brimmed hat, lip balm and moisturiser. Reapply sunscreen during road stops.
Health and papers
Pack prescriptions, basic first aid, insurance details and identification copies. Keep essential medicines in hand luggage and the day bag.
Road-day bag
Keep water, snacks, tissue, sanitiser, power bank, cash, offline maps and a warm layer within reach—not under roof luggage.
Pack responsibly
Use a refillable bottle and reusable bag. Avoid single-use toiletries and carry rubbish back from remote areas. Soft luggage fits vehicles more easily.
