Health comes first
Age alone does not decide suitability. Discuss heart, lung, blood-pressure, pregnancy or other relevant conditions with a qualified clinician.
Slow itinerary
Use at least two Leh nights, avoid immediate high sleeping points and reduce consecutive long drives. An extra Nubra night is often better than adding another lake.
Children
Keep meals, hydration, warmth and sleep routines consistent. Children may describe altitude symptoms poorly, so watch behaviour and energy.
Senior comfort
Prioritise ground-floor or lift access, reliable hot water, suitable vehicles and accessible stops. Avoid unnecessary hotel changes.
Emergency planning
Carry prescriptions, insurance, offline contacts and enough medication for delays. Never hide symptoms to protect the schedule.
Confirm live weather, roads, government rules, operating stays and prices close to departure. This guide supports planning but does not replace official instructions or medical advice.
