Rider requirements
Use a valid licence, suitable insurance and previous multi-day riding experience. Ladakh is not the place to learn basic motorcycle control.
Protective equipment
Wear a certified helmet, armoured jacket and trousers, gloves, boots and rain or wind layers. Sun and cold exposure change quickly.
Motorcycle preparation
Check tyres, brakes, chain, fluids, electrical system and luggage mounting. Carry appropriate puncture and basic repair equipment.
Daily distance
Altitude, passes, road work and water crossings make city-speed estimates meaningless. Start early and stop before fatigue affects judgement.
Support and fuel
Remote circuits need fuel planning, communication and a recovery plan. A support vehicle is valuable for groups and long expeditions.
Confirm live weather, roads, government rules, operating stays and prices close to departure. This guide supports planning but does not replace official instructions or medical advice.
